Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Taksi, Inc. (“Taksi,” “we,” “us”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Taksi app and services (the “Platform”). By using the Platform, you agree to this Policy. Taksi is currently a beta/test service.

1. Information we collect

We collect information you provide, information created when you use the Platform, and information from third parties.

•Account & profile: name, email, phone number, role (rider or driver), profile photo, and referral codes.

•Driver verification: vehicle details and documents (such as license, insurance, and vehicle photos) and verification status.

•Location: precise location while you use the Platform (for example, to match rides, show drivers nearby, navigate, and track trips), where you grant permission.

•Ride & usage data: pickup/drop-off, routes, timing, fares, tips, ratings, reviews, cancellations, messages, and in-app activity.

•Payment data: handled by our payment processor (currently Stripe). We receive limited details such as confirmation and the last four digits — we do not store full card numbers.

•Device & technical: device type, app version, identifiers, and diagnostic/log data.

2. How we use information

•Operate the Platform: create accounts, match riders and drivers, navigate, and complete trips.

•Process payments, tips, payouts, refunds, and referral credits.

•Safety, security, and fraud prevention, including verification and enforcing our Terms.

•Customer support and service-related communications.

•Improve and develop features, and understand how the Platform is used.

•Comply with legal obligations.

3. Location data

Drivers' location is used to find nearby ride requests and to share live trip progress with the matched rider. Riders' location is used for pickup, routing, and trip tracking. You can control location access in your device settings, but some features won't work without it.

4. How we share information

•Between users: to complete a trip we share limited details — for example, a rider and matched driver see each other's first name, photo, rating, vehicle info, and live location during the trip.

•Service providers: companies that help us operate the Platform, such as payments (Stripe), authentication (Clerk), maps/routing, hosting, and messaging — under contracts limiting their use of your data.

•Legal & safety: when required by law or to protect the rights, property, or safety of users, the public, or Taksi.

•Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.

We do not sell your personal information for money.

5. SMS / text messaging

If you sign in or verify your account by phone number, we send you text messages containing one-time verification codes. By providing your phone number, you consent to receive these messages. Message frequency varies with your use of the Platform (typically one message per sign-in attempt). Message and data rates may apply. We do not sell or share your mobile phone number with third parties for their own marketing purposes. Verification codes are required for account security and cannot be opted out of individually — to stop receiving them, discontinue use of phone sign-in or delete your account.

6. Payments

Payment card details are collected and processed directly by our payment processor under their own security standards and privacy terms. Taksi does not receive or store your full card number.

7. Data retention

We keep information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Platform, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. We may retain certain records (for example, trip and payment history) as required by law.

8. Your choices and rights

•Access or update your profile information in the app.

•Control location and notification permissions in your device settings.

•Request a copy of your data or deletion of your account from Privacy & data in Settings, or by emailing privacy@taksi.to.

•Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights (such as access, correction, deletion, or to opt out of certain sharing). We honor rights required by applicable law, including for California residents.

9. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Keep your login credentials confidential.

10. Children

The Platform is not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Third-party services

The Platform may link to or rely on third-party services with their own privacy practices. We are not responsible for those services, and we encourage you to review their policies.

12. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will provide notice through the Platform. Your continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated Policy.
